I am an art historian with an interest in gender and colonialism in Polynesia, and in the theories and methodologies of art history. I recently published an essay, "On 1890s Tahiti," for a Gauguin exhibition catalog (Art Centre, Basel, 2011). I serve as Interim Department Head of Art and Art History at the University of Connecticut and School of Fine Arts Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
